Governance, Advisory & Program Support

Outback Instincts Ltd is governed by a Board of Directors in accordance with its Constitution and ACNC Governance Standards. Program delivery is supported by delivery partners and contributors.
​As the organisation grows and expands partnerships, we are committed to maintaining clear separation between governance and program delivery.

Board of Directors

Hayley Chambers - Founder, Chairperson, Director & Public Officer
​
Hayley provides strategic leadership and long-term vision for Outback Instincts, drawing on her experience in animal-assisted programs, rural education and community development. As the founder of both Outback Instincts and Animal Instincts Australia, she has built and delivered practical, land-based programs that support young people across regional Queensland.
With a strong background in equine training, program design and community engagement, Hayley brings both operational insight and strategic direction to the organisation’s growth, partnerships and sustainability.
Hayley remains actively involved in program development while ensuring strong governance oversight through the Board structure.​​

Graeme Chambers – Director & Treasurer 
Graeme brings extensive experience in business operations and financial management, having successfully owned and operated large-scale enterprises across Queensland. He oversees financial governance, budgeting and risk management for Outback Instincts, ensuring the organisation maintains strong fiscal responsibility, sustainability and accountability as it grows.

Karen Chambers – Director & Company Secretary

Karen brings decades of experience in business administration, operations and compliance, having been closely involved in the management of successful family enterprises. She supports governance compliance, regulatory responsibilities and structured record-keeping, ensuring the organisation operates with integrity, transparency and sound governance practices.

Governance & Advisory Committee 

​Outback Instincts is supported by an independent Governance & Advisory Committee that contributes strategic insight and community perspective while maintaining clear separation from day-to-day program delivery.
Teleah Brydon
Teleah is an independent governance member with lived experience and a background in administration and business management. She brings both personal insight and practical capability to the Board, supporting strong oversight and strategic direction. As the founder of Muse-EA, Teleah contributes experience in marketing, design and community engagement, adding a creative and youth-focused lens to governance and long-term program development.

Program Support & Community Contributors 

Program Support & Community Contributors assist with delivery of specific programs and community engagement activities. 
Jack Dent 
Jack brings hands-on experience in youth engagement, rural skills development and working with livestock and sheepdogs. His practical approach and strong connection to country life support the delivery of farm-based learning experiences for young people. Jack contributes to the Paws on the Ground program and supports youth skill development through practical training.​

 Leanne Brooks
​
Leanne has experience in youth program support and community engagement, contributing to the practical delivery of activities across Outback Instincts programs. She enjoys hands-on involvement in initiatives such as Paddocks to Purpose and The Paddock Project, supporting young people as they build confidence and develop practical skills in rural settings.
With an interest in animal care and life on the land, Leanne brings creativity and enthusiasm to program environments. She has a passion for creative projects and enjoys capturing and sharing rural experiences through photography and storytelling, helping highlight the growth and achievements of young participants.
Annie Jackson
Annie is a youth facilitator working in partnership with Animal Instincts Australia to support Outback Instincts programs. She brings strong hands-on experience in rural and farm environments, with practical skills in livestock handling, station work and horsemanship.
Annie plays a key role in supporting the delivery of youth initiatives, including Outback OnTrack, mentoring young people through real-world rural experiences both on the property and on partner stations.
Having recently completed Year 12, Annie brings energy, relatability and a deep connection to life on the land. She continues to build her skills across livestock management and equine care, and is passionate about helping young people develop confidence and practical capability in rural settings.
